April Paper Crafting Blog Hop

Hello, my crafty friends. Welcome to the April Paper Crafting Blog Hop! I am participating in this blog hop with fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators from across the globe! You might be starting the blog hop right now, or you may be coming from Maureen Rauchfuss's blog. Great project, Maureen! Welcome one and all.

The theme for this month's blog hop is "thinking of you-girls" and if you have been following my blog the last few weeks, you know that I have been featuring some of my favorite retiring product that maybe I have not shown all the LOVE they have deserved over the past (catalog) year. Today I am using the retiring Pretty Perennials Stamp Set (retires June 30) and the 2020-22 In Color Designer Series Paper (retires May 3).

The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Magenta Madness cardstock. (Personal note: This color is really growing on me!) The second layer is the 2020-22 In Color 6" X 6" DSP (dots side) cut 4" x 5 1/4". The reverse of the 3/4" wide scrap of the DSP provides some additional dimension behind the main image.

The super cute flowers are stamped in alternating Misty Moonlight and second generation Magenta Madness; the stems and leaves are stamped in Just Jade on Basic White cardstock and trimmed with the largest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

The sentiment is stamped in Magenta Madness and the "happy" sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Black, then fussy cut and raised up on mini dimensionals (it may be hard to see this dimension in the picture).

This is a fairly simple card highlighting second generation stamping technique, masking, and fussy cutting.

So, now it is time to check out the great project by our next blog hopper, Julia Mazur.

This is a full list of our bloggers this month and their links in case you find yourself off track:
Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  I hope my project has inspired your creativity. Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you so I can find your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it.

All the supplies used in the card above can be ordered through my online store.

Pretty Perennials Stamp Set • Item# 154435 | Bundle Item# 156234 (The coordinating Perennial Petals Dies were not used to make this card, but you save 10% if you purchase these as a bundle!)

2020-22 In Color Collection Classic Stampin' Pad Magenta Madness • Item# 153117
2020-22 In Color Collection Classic Stampin' Pad Misty Moonlight • Item# 153118
2020-22 In Color Collection Classic Stampin' Pad Just Jade • Item# 153115
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad • Item# 132708

Paper:
2020-22 In Color Collection Cardstock Magenta Madness • Item# 153080
2020-22 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortment • Item# 153070
Basic White Cardstock • Item# 159276

Accessories/Tools:
NOTE: I have been ultra-conservative in my projects during these extraordinary times as so many of my customers do not have a die cutting machine so I always offer an alternative idea for any die used in my projects.

Although I did not use the coordinating Perennial Petals Dies • Item# 154321 on this card, I did use the largest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies • Item# 151690 so alternatively you could use a piece of Basic White cardstock, cut 3" x 4".

Don't forget to add your favorite adhesive and a new pair of paper snips for super easy fussy cutting. I recommend the new Stampin' Seal • Item# 152813 and Paper Snips • Item# 103579.

I would appreciate it if you use the host code found on the sidebar of my blog when ordering through my online store, however, do NOT use this Host Code if your order already qualifies for Stampin' Rewards ($150 USD). If your order is $25 or more, and you would like to receive an instruction sheet with dimensions and detailed directions, please send me an email with a request for the "Pretty Perennials 041721" Instruction Sheet.
