Handmade Spring Card Featuring Punch Art Techniques

Hello, my crafty friends. Since it is spring, and Easter is right around the corner, it is time for a break from the string of birthday cards. I will still use the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set for the sentiment. I am in love with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder so I want to use that on my card. I am going to use the Well Written Dies for a super cute blue bird. Check this out.

The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Pacific Point cardstock. The first layer is the Brights DSP in Pacific Point cut 4" x 5 1/4". The second layer build begins with a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock cut 3 3/4" x 5" and the bottom is covered with a 1 1/2" strip of Soft Suede cardstock embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D EF. The top ledge of the wall is a 3/4" strip of Basic White just a tad longer than 3 3/4" to extend over the edge on both sides. The sentiment is stamped in Pacific Point.

The bunny ears were created using the Daisy Punch and the Medium Daisy Punch - super cute. The tall, leafy plants are from the Well Written Dies in Just Jade and a Small Bloom Punch flower in Daffodil Delight tucked right behind the wall. (The flower stamp is from the Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set/Bundle in the Jan-June Mini). The sun is created using the 1 1/2" Circle Punch and the sun's rays are made from a tiny star in the Stitched Stars Dies.

This was a fun card to make. I hope my project has inspired your creativity. I would love to see what you have created. Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you so I can find your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it.

Simple Stamping Challenge Featuring Jar of Flowers Stamp Set

Hello, my crafty friends. This month I have been featuring birthday cards and today is no different. I also decided to try another card for the March Simple Stamping Challenge. To refresh your memory, this month's challenge is to create a card with stamps, ink and paper, plus Designer Series Paper.
The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Coastal Cabana cardstock. The first layer is a piece of the Playing with Patterns DSP cut 3 3/4" x 5 1/4". The second layer is Coastal Cabana cut 3 1/4" x 4 5/8" and adhered at an angle. The flower arrangement and jar are stamped on Basic White cardstock, cut 2 3/4" x 4 3/8", using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. (The "odd" sizes for the mats were necessary due to the "height" of the flower image.)

Did you spot the technique I used on this card? I stamped the jar on a scrap piece from the Playing with Patterns DSP, fussy cut it to fit inside the outer edge of the image, and "paper pieced" it over the stamped image on the Basic White cardstock. I think the technique might have been easier to spot if I had not layered the sentiment over the top of the jar image - then you could have seen the different shades of Coastal Cabana on the pattern paper.

If you are careful to not color over the lines, you can use your Stampin' Write Markers on the flower image stamped with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Otherwise, you should use Stampin' Blends for coloring to eliminate the risk of the black ink bleeding into the colors. The marker colors I used were  Calypso Coral (or substitute with Terracotta Tile), Crushed Curry (or substitute with So Saffron), Pretty Peacock (or substitute with Shaded Spruce), Purple Posy (or substitute with Highland Heather).

Give the #simplestamping challenge a try! And, if you would like to try the paper piecing technique, choose any large, line image stamp from your collection.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  I hope my project has inspired your creativity. Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you so I can find your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it.

March Paper Crafting Blog Hop

Hello, my crafty friends. Welcome to the March Paper Crafting Blog Hop! I am participating in this blog hop with fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators from across the globe! You might be starting the blog hop right now, or you may be coming from Sue Boerner's blog. Great project, Sue! Welcome one and all.

The theme for this month's blog hop is "happy birthday." Now I have been posting birthday cards the last couple of weeks here so today I am sharing this super cute card using the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set in a slightly familiar card design. Stick around for the details.

The card base is a top fold, landscape A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Calypso Coral cardstock. The tulips on the top half of the card are stamped on a Basic White cardstock strip, cut 2" x 5 1/4" using Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz ink. To create the brick wall, I ran this strip through "The Boss" (what I have been affectionately calling the new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine!!) using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

The sentiment is stamped on a 1/2" strip of Basic White cardstock with a slim piece of Calypso Coral cardstock along the bottom edge. I hand cut the flagged end and wrapped the other end with Linen Thread.

The bottom panel is a pretty pattern strip from the Playing with Patterns 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut 2" x 5 1/4". Since I plan to use this card for this month's online workshop - and some crafters have not yet had an opportunity to purchase the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch - the 3 tulip clusters were stamped on scrap Basic White cardstock and trimmed to fit, approximately 1 1/4" x 1 3/4".

So, now it is time to check out the great project by our next blog hopper, Terri Stewart.

This is a full list of our bloggers this month and their links in case you find yourself off track:

Simple Stamping Challenge Featuring Timeless Tulips Stamp Set

Hello, my crafty friends. It has been a couple of months since I have participated in the Simple Stamping Challenge so let's give the March challenge a try with the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set. This month's challenge is to create a card with stamps, ink and paper, plus Designer Series Paper! Easy peasy.
#simplestamping

The card base is a top fold, landscape A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Magenta Madness cardstock. The tulips are stamped on Basic White cardstock, cut 3 3/4" x 5" using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the splatter image to slightly fill the color in the main flower and I used the blender pen to spread color on the flower bud and the leaves.
The DSP strip is from the 2020-22 In Color DSP Assortment, cut 3/4" x 4". Actually, the DSP is a scrap from my swaps for next month's Stampin' Up convention, held via Zoom, but the piece is a perfect fit and perfectly fulfills the challenge!

Give the #simplestamping challenge a try!

REMINDER: I want to keep everyone motivated and crafting so this month I am giving away a Timeless Tulips stamp set. As I have offered for the last several months, for all orders of $25 or more using the February or March host code, I will send you the card kits for the March workshop (this month to be held on March 27 via Facebook Live on my business page). Quick and Easy Handmade Card Featuring Timeless Tulips Stamp Set and Tulip Builder Punch

Hello, my crafty friends. Today I am reaching back to our crafting in March of 2020...back when we first started meeting virtually for classes. If you recall, I asked everyone to purchase the Timeless Tulips stamp set and Tulip Builder Punch so we could craft together - virtually. So dust off your stamp set and punch and let's try another card.

The card base is a side fold A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Bumblebee cardstock. The mat is Pear Pizzazz cardstock, cut 3 3/8" x 5". The DSP strip is from the 2020-22 In Color DSP Assortment, cut 1" x 5". The tulips are stamped on Basic White cardstock, die cut using the largest scalloped edge rectangle in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

Don't you love, love, love the Bumblebee ribbon and the font of this birthday sentiment - beautiful!

I want to keep everyone motivated and crafting so this month I am giving away a Timeless Tulips stamp set. As I have offered for the last several months, for all orders of $25 or more using the February or March host code, I will send you the card kits for the March workshop (this month to be held on March 27 via Facebook Live on my business page). In addition, I will be picking 1 winner from those orders of $25 or more using the February or March host code (see March host code below or on the sidebar) for your own Timeless Tulips stamp set. (NOTE: If you place your order after the monthly workshop, you will receive the next month's workshop card kits - unless you let me know you really want the current month's card kits.)

(January 4, 2021 - June 30, 2021)
If you have placed an order from me over the past year, you should have received a copy of the new January-June 2021 Mini Catalog (formerly called the Spring Mini Catalog) in the mail. If you do not already have a demonstrator, it would be my pleasure to be your enabler (er, I mean demonstrator) and send you a copy of your very own.
