Simple Stamping Challenge Featuring Jar of Flowers Stamp Set

Hello, my crafty friends. This month I have been featuring birthday cards and today is no different. I also decided to try another card for the March Simple Stamping Challenge. To refresh your memory, this month's challenge is to create a card with stamps, ink and paper, plus Designer Series Paper.
The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Coastal Cabana cardstock. The first layer is a piece of the Playing with Patterns DSP cut 3 3/4" x 5 1/4". The second layer is Coastal Cabana cut 3 1/4" x 4 5/8" and adhered at an angle. The flower arrangement and jar are stamped on Basic White cardstock, cut 2 3/4" x 4 3/8", using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. (The "odd" sizes for the mats were necessary due to the "height" of the flower image.)

Did you spot the technique I used on this card? I stamped the jar on a scrap piece from the Playing with Patterns DSP, fussy cut it to fit inside the outer edge of the image, and "paper pieced" it over the stamped image on the Basic White cardstock. I think the technique might have been easier to spot if I had not layered the sentiment over the top of the jar image - then you could have seen the different shades of Coastal Cabana on the pattern paper.

If you are careful to not color over the lines, you can use your Stampin' Write Markers on the flower image stamped with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Otherwise, you should use Stampin' Blends for coloring to eliminate the risk of the black ink bleeding into the colors. The marker colors I used were  Calypso Coral (or substitute with Terracotta Tile), Crushed Curry (or substitute with So Saffron), Pretty Peacock (or substitute with Shaded Spruce), Purple Posy (or substitute with Highland Heather).

Give the #simplestamping challenge a try! And, if you would like to try the paper piecing technique, choose any large, line image stamp from your collection.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  I hope my project has inspired your creativity. Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you so I can find your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it.

I want to keep everyone motivated and crafting so this month I am giving away a Timeless Tulips stamp set. As I have offered for the last several months, for all orders of $25 or more using the February or March host code, I will send you the card kits for the March workshop (this month to be held on March 27 via Facebook Live on my business page). In addition, I will be picking 1 winner from those orders of $25 or more using the February or March host code (see March host code below or on the sidebar) for your own Timeless Tulips stamp set. (NOTE: March orders placed after March 27 workshop will receive April's workshop card kits - unless you let me know you really want the current month's card kits.)

Hope you were able to subscribe in time for the March Paper Pumpkin kit. Be sure to Like and Follow my Facebook page for discussions with other Paper Pumpkin subscribers. Not a subscriber already? No problem. Contact me and let's get you signed up by April 10 in time for the next kit so that you do not miss out any more!

(January 4, 2021 - June 30, 2021)
If you have placed an order from me over the past year, you should have received a copy of the new January-June 2021 Mini Catalog (formerly called the Spring Mini Catalog) in the mail. If you do not already have a demonstrator, it would be my pleasure to be your enabler (er, I mean demonstrator) and send you a copy of your very own.

(Retiring May 3, 2021)
All good things must come to an end. The 2020-21 Annual Catalog will retire on May 3, 2021, and although many of the great products will carry over, many will not and will only be available while supplies last. The retiring product list will be coming out soon and if you are interested in a copy, message me.  Also, I am putting together my mailing list (to be finalized on March 30) so if you have moved recently and you are concerned that your mailing address is not current in my records, message me ASAP so that I can get a copy out to you in the mail.

(March 2, 2021 - May 3, 2021)
The early release of this beautiful butterfly collection that will be in the new 2021-22 Annual Catalog is available to customers now. The exclusive DSP has already sold out, but I understand that the specialty paper is still available while supplies last. (Do I need to say it? Time is of the essence!)

As always, if you have any questions, or need any assistance, contact me in your favorite method of communication. :)
