March Paper Crafting Blog Hop

Hello, my crafty friends. Welcome to the March Paper Crafting Blog Hop! I am participating in this blog hop with fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators from across the globe! You might be starting the blog hop right now, or you may be coming from Sue Boerner's blog. Great project, Sue! Welcome one and all.

The theme for this month's blog hop is "happy birthday." Now I have been posting birthday cards the last couple of weeks here so today I am sharing this super cute card using the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set in a slightly familiar card design. Stick around for the details.

The card base is a top fold, landscape A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Calypso Coral cardstock. The tulips on the top half of the card are stamped on a Basic White cardstock strip, cut 2" x 5 1/4" using Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz ink. To create the brick wall, I ran this strip through "The Boss" (what I have been affectionately calling the new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine!!) using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

The sentiment is stamped on a 1/2" strip of Basic White cardstock with a slim piece of Calypso Coral cardstock along the bottom edge. I hand cut the flagged end and wrapped the other end with Linen Thread.

The bottom panel is a pretty pattern strip from the Playing with Patterns 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut 2" x 5 1/4". Since I plan to use this card for this month's online workshop - and some crafters have not yet had an opportunity to purchase the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch - the 3 tulip clusters were stamped on scrap Basic White cardstock and trimmed to fit, approximately 1 1/4" x 1 3/4".

Simple Stamping Challenge Featuring Timeless Tulips Stamp Set

Hello, my crafty friends. It has been a couple of months since I have participated in the Simple Stamping Challenge so let's give the March challenge a try with the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set. This month's challenge is to create a card with stamps, ink and paper, plus Designer Series Paper! Easy peasy.

The card base is a top fold, landscape A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Magenta Madness cardstock. The tulips are stamped on Basic White cardstock, cut 3 3/4" x 5" using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the splatter image to slightly fill the color in the main flower and I used the blender pen to spread color on the flower bud and the leaves. 
The DSP strip is from the 2020-22 In Color DSP Assortment, cut 3/4" x 4". Actually, the DSP is a scrap from my swaps for next month's Stampin' Up convention, held via Zoom, but the piece is a perfect fit and perfectly fulfills the challenge!

Quick and Easy Handmade Card Featuring Timeless Tulips Stamp Set and Tulip Builder Punch

Hello, my crafty friends. Today I am reaching back to our crafting in March of 2020...back when we first started meeting virtually for classes. If you recall, I asked everyone to purchase the Timeless Tulips stamp set and Tulip Builder Punch so we could craft together - virtually. So dust off your stamp set and punch and let's try another card.

The card base is a side fold A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Bumblebee cardstock. The mat is Pear Pizzazz cardstock, cut 3 3/8" x 5". Quick and Easy Handmade Card Featuring Pattern Play Stamp Set

Hello, my crafty friends. Today I thought I would share a couple of cards based on my card design from earlier this month using the Playing with Patterns Suite (AC pp. 100-102).

The card base is a side fold A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Misty Moonlight. The mat is a 2 1/4" strip of a pretty pattern sheet from the Playing with Patterns 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, and a second 2 1/4" strip of the Misty Moonlight pattern sheet from the 2020-22 In Color Designer Series Paper Assortment. I covered the seam between the two different sheets of DSP with a 1" strip of Night of Navy. The "HBD" initials were cut using the Playful Alphabet Dies, and a second set of "HBD" initials were cut from a scrap of Pool Party cardstock - inlaid to create this fun element.

The sentiment is from the Pattern Play Stamp Set and I used the "sparkle" images in Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay in the background to coordinate with the pattern sheet.

This second card, based on my original card design in Crushed Curry, was the card that we made in the monthly FaceBook LIVE workshop. Since I sent out kits to everyone, I kept it simple, but it turned out so cute.

February Paper Crafting Blog Hop

Hello, my crafty friends. Welcome to the February Paper Crafting Blog Hop! I am participating in this blog hop with fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators from across the globe! You might be starting the blog hop right now, or you may be coming from Annette McMillan's blog. Great project, Netty! Welcome one and all.

For this month's blog hop, we are all featuring Sale-A-Bration product in our projects. As you know, there is an awesome collection of stamp sets and paper to select from as your reward for purchases. Today I am mixing it up and have created this super cute card using three Sale-A-Bration products: Berry Blessings Stamp Set (SAB Level 2, pp. 14-15), Punch Party Stamp Set (SAB Hostess, p. 17) and Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper (SAB Level 1, p. 7).

I was so excited to earn the Punch Party Stamp Set because there are three coordinating punches: Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch, Double Oval Punch, and the Heart Punch Pack. (After weeks of valentine's cards, I decided to give everyone a break from the hearts today!!) 

Tip: Double punch two of the images with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch to create the squares!! Don't you love the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch!

Quick and Easy Handmade Card Featuring Posted for You Punch Bundle

Hello, my crafty friends. Tell me, have you been busy crafting with this week? I have been playing with my new punch bundle - Posted For You Stamp Set and Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch (AC p. 81) this past weekend. This stamp set has some really beautiful images that fit perfectly inside this punch. Take a look at my card in the 2020-22 In Color Misty Moonlight.

The card base is a side fold A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Misty Moonlight cardstock. The mat is the circle pattern sheet from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortment (cut 3" x 5 1/2") and although it does not make a difference for the pattern sheet I chose, you want to cut your pattern sheet in landscape.

The images were stamped on a strip of Basic White cardstock. In order to adhere to the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch piece, I trimmed each and centered the images to fit (cut 1 13/16" w x 1 3/4" h). For me it was easier to trim after stamping, but, of course, you decide which is easier for you.

I stamped the sentiment on a long, 1/2" strip of Basic White cardstock, flagged the ends and adhered over the top of the staggered images. Of course, no card with a love sentiment is complete without hearts, so I punched several using the heart on the Dog Builder Punch in the scraps from the DSP.

We will be using Posted For You Bundle along with the Pattern Play SS to make a couple of cards at the February workshop (Sat. Feb. 20). It will be on Facebook Live this month. As always I recommend taking advantage of the 10% discount pricing for the bundle.

Quick and Easy Handmade Card Featuring Pattern Play Stamp Set

Hello, my crafty friends. While playing with some stamps out on the craft table this weekend, I thought well maybe we should continue making cards using the Playing with Patterns Suite (AC pp. 100-102). I am not certain if this card qualifies for Simple Stamping status as it uses the coordinating Playful Alphabet Dies, but it was super easy and quick to put together.

The card base is a side fold A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Crushed Curry cardstock. The mat is a pretty pattern sheet from the Playing with Patterns 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (cut 4" x 5 1/4" in a landscape format). I used the Playful Alphabet Dies for the "HBD" initials -- which for those of you unsure, this is an abbreviation used in social media for Happy Birthday!! I cut a set of "HBD" from a scrap of Calypso Coral and inlaid to create this fun element.

My sentiment is from the Pattern Play Stamp Set and I popped up the two small inset words to add some detail. I also added two 1/4" strips of coordinating cardstock to create sections.

We will be using the Pattern Play SS to make a couple of cards at the February workshop (Sat. Feb. 20). It will be a Facebook Live this month. As always I recommend purchasing the coordinating dies, Playful Alphabet, to take advantage of the 10% discount pricing, however, I will not be using the dies during our virtual workshop to prevent excluding those crafty fans that do not have a die cut machine yet -- but you really should consider purchasing the new Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (there is even a mini version!).
