Quick Card Featuring Detailed Dogwood Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends. Super quick card featuring the Detailed Dogwood stamp set. The flower image is beautiful so nothing to do here, really, but some simple coloring. Stamp a couple of the smaller images from the set and this note card looks a little like journaling or doodling. I pieced together this card using the two samples in the Sale-A-Bration brochure. What do you think?

This is a landscape A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4", then fold and burnish the top side for a crisp edge. Before affixing the Copper Clay cardstock mat (4” x 5 1/4"), stamp several images along/off the edges using the coordinating ink. After stamping and coloring the dogwood image on the top layer of Basic White (3 3/4" x 4 3/4"), add some additional images (like that cool dragonfly) and be sure to add along the bottom edge that long stamp of dots in Moody Mauve. The samples have the main layer adhered at an angle, so I did as well. I guessed at the measurement of this layer, but I think it is close.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  In stamping the dogwood image, I found that Copper Clay was just too dark so I used a second generation stamp of Pecan Pie and used Stampin’ Write Markers in Petal Pink and Lemon Lime Twist for coloring.

I (HEART):  Love that the small flower in this stamp set can be punched using the Petal Park Builder Punch. Surprise!! 😊

Cross-Teaming Beary Cute and Beautiful Balloons for December Birthday Greetings

Hello my crafty friends. December birthday cards are really tough to squeeze into the mix of holiday baking, cardmaking and gift wrapping. Whew, so glad that the cardmaking crunch is over. Today I thought I would share one of my December birthday cards combining the Beary Cute collection and A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper with the birthday set, Beautiful Balloons. Happy birthday to all those with December birthdays!

This is a top fold A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4", then fold and burnish the top side for a crisp edge. The Pretty Peacock mat (4” x 5 1/4") and the DSP (4” x 4”) create a beautiful background to the polar bear delivery of balloons and birthday wishes in coordinating Pretty Peacock classic ink. The polar bear is created from the Beary Cute stamp (Pecan Pie classic ink) and punch, then fill in the polar bear using the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends (light). Coordinating cap ‘n scarf stamped in Pretty Peacock classic ink. Just a hint of Lost Lagoon in the retired ribbon peeking out from behind the balloons.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  I was thinking that my friends born in December might appreciate a birthday card that does NOT include traditional holiday colors of red and green. What do you think?

I (HEART):  Love this collection of trees from A Walk in the Forest DSP, especially those stick trees in Pretty Peacock. 😊

Simple Holiday Card featuring Tiny Christmas Trees Die

Hello my crafty friends. Last week I shared a simple card using an embossing folder so this week I want to share a simple card using the Tiny Christmas Trees Die. Die cutting is another method for creating a beautiful and super simple card.

This is a side fold A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4", then fold and burnish the side for a crisp edge. The trees are die cut from Garden Green cardstock (5 1/4" x 4”) and a slightly smaller piece is fixed behind the mat for Real Red trees. The Merry Christmas sentiment (from the Beary Cute Stamp Set) is inked in Real Red and the right edge is finished using the Banners Pick a Punch.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  Traditional holiday colors for the tiny trees really makes this card. If you want to try a non-traditional color, please share with us.

I (HEART):  Love these teeny tiny trees. This die creates lots of teeny tiny trees for use in a shaker card! Love it! 😊

Simple Holiday Card featuring Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder

Hello my crafty friends. We are on the home stretch for completing our holiday cards so they are timely out in the mail. It may be time to simplify your cardmaking by using the Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder! Another beautiful and super simple card.

This is a top fold A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4", then fold and burnish the top for a crisp edge. I went with a Crumb Cake mat (5 1/4" x 4”) for embossing and a splash of Real Red behind the Merry Christmas sentiment (from the Beary Cute Stamp Set), cut a bit long in order to place a teeny tiny gingham bow.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  So, Basic White for the card base to reduce costs, but you could swap it out for either Real Red or Garden Green.

I (HEART):  Love, love, love the teeny tiny gingham bow. Not gonna lie, it was a bit hard to get it that small!! Love it! 😊

Holiday Card featuring Beary Cute Stamp Set and A Walk in the Woods DSP

Hello my crafty friends. One of my favorite holiday cards this year has been using the images from the coordinating Designer Series Paper to the Beary Cute Stamp Set/Bundle – A Walk in the Woods DSP. Could card making be any easier, or cuter?

This is a top fold A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4", then fold and burnish for a crisp edge. There are at least three choices of color for the first layer mat (5 1/4" x4”) to coordinate with the larger trees in this pack of DSP. Added bonus is you can quickly chop out a couple of trees and then use the coordinating dies from the Merriest Trees Dies to give the images a crisp edge. For my wintry background, the top mat (5” x 3 3/4") is Basic White embossed with the retired folder, Softly Falling, to give the appearance of snow lightly falling. And, by using the less dense side for the top, I was able to stamp the sentiment without adding a separate piece as a banner.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  There are several polar bears in the DSP that can easily be fussy cut, or coordinate with the Beary Cute Punch.

I (HEART):  Love, love, love this paper pack, A Walk in the Woods Designer Series Paper. So many colors to choose from. So many polar bears, and the cute, cute baby polar bear. Love it! 😊

Holiday Card featuring Merriest Trees Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends. In keeping with our goal of staying on top of our holiday card making, here is another card using the Merriest Trees Stamp Set in the familiar book binding design. I also used the coordinating A Walk in the Forest DSP for the background.

This is a side fold A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 4 1/4", scored at 5 1/2", fold and burnish for a crisp edge. To create the book binding design, add a second score line at 6 3/4 (an additional 1 1/4"). The DSP is cut at 4” x 5” (be sure to pay special attention to your pattern before cutting), then remove a 1” piece so that there are now 2 pieces - Side A of the DSP is 4” x 4” and Side B of the DSP is 1” x 4”. Once both pieces are adhered, add a double wrap of the Linen Thread and secure inside behind the 1 1/4" section.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  Many of the papers in this DSP pack will work for this card, however, if it seems too busy, there is no requirement to use Side B! Keep them both the same.

I (HEART):  I snuck in a red heart from the Alphabet à la Mode Dies on the gingham bow. Love it! 😊

Holiday Card featuring the Celebrate with Tags Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends. In order to stay on top of holiday card making, we are making at least one holiday card at each workshop. Last month’s workshop featured this adorable mitten in a non-traditional holiday color, the new 2023-25 In Color Boho Blue.

This is a top fold A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4", fold and burnish for a crisp edge. The mittens are stamped on a 2 1/2" strip of Basic White. The DSP strips from the 2023-25 In Color 6x6 Designer Series Paper Assortment are 1/4“ strips. Center on a Boho Blue mat (cut 4” x 5 1/4").

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  This super simple card would be awesome in your favorite color, not just this wintry blue or any traditional reds and greens.

Hello my crafty friends. I love the new daisies, and the bundle is perfect on its own, but today’s card uses a fun border from the Darling Details collection.

This is a side fold A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4", fold and burnish for a crisp edge. The mat is from the Fresh As a Daisy DSP (cut 4” x 5 1/4"). The border is die cut from a piece of the new in color Pebble Path (cut 4” by 5 1/4").

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  The three dies in the Darling Details bundle are awesome for framing the Fresh As a Daisy DSP. Today this die has my top pick spot. What is your stamp set/bundle right now?

I (HEART):  First, I love this dual-font sentiment from the Darling Details Stamp Set. And, of course, I am still loving the Fresh As a Daisy DSP. Beautiful paper – makes a great background!

It is time for Christmas in July Cards

Hello my crafty friends. It may seem strange, but it is time to start working on our holiday cards. At last week’s workshop, we worked with great images from the Cottage Wreaths stamp set and dies, with traditional greens and reds.

This is a side fold A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4", fold and burnish for a crisp edge. The mat is 4” x 5 1/4" in Real Red. The wreath is stamped in Shaded Spruce and die cut. The bottom panel in the photo is a piece of retire DSP (3 3/4" x 1 1/2"), however, the stripes can be made by a swipe of a stamp pad over a mask.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  The card is super simple and hopefully inspires you to pull out your stash and just make a card! If you want, you could add some basic twine or a ribbon in coordinating colors.

I (HEART):  Speaking of color, traditional reds and greens are my go-to colors for holiday cards. 😊

Quick and Easy Card Featuring Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends. Just a quick post on this beautiful Saturday evening about the Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set!

This is a side fold A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4", fold and burnish for a crisp edge. The mat is 4” x 5 1/4". I really don’t think I will ever be able to use up this super-sized pack of beautiful patterned paper (Dandy Designs DSP).

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  Balloons are a staple in my cardmaking.
