Baby Shower Card Featuring Baby Tees and Sentiment from Baby Prints

Reprinted from my Stampin' Up! Blog...
I have several VIP events this month that will require cards, including a baby shower to attend later this month, so I thought I should take advantage of this long weekend and get a head start on my card making. For now, let’s focus on the baby shower card. In case you hadn’t noticed – It’s a Girl ! My regular readers will know exactly who will receive this card.

Now for the details…

I am so in LUV with the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and coordinating Chalk Talk Framelits, I knew that I had to work something from either the stamp set or the Framelits into this card so I used the Framelits to create a removable tag for a keepsake bookmark. Cute, right? I hope the mommy-to-be agrees.
The sleeper (onesie) is just one of several from the Baby Tees Stampin’ Around Wheel. It was really easy to snip out. Again, and still hung up on the Gingham Stampin’ Around Wheel, I ran 3 right next to each other to make the background pattern for the bookmark with enough left over to punch out the background circle to build the bookmark.
I tried to keep the card all one color (Pink Pirouette), however, the duckies had to be yellow. I struggled with the ribbon for the bookmark — I needed a wide ribbon and went with a retired ribbon. I know, I know, but I love this old ribbon and had plenty of surplus after it was retired.
Finally, I wanted the sentiment from Baby Prints Stamp Set to stand out so I bumped up the color a notch using the new 2013-15 In Color Strawberry Slush.
The pearl accents really make the card.

Stamp on!!

Sandy
