This month our projects will center around punches which was a great choice for me since I have been featuring punches in my weekly cards throughout the pandemic. Here's my card using three (3) punches: Flowers & Leaves punch, Label Me Fancy punch and Banners Pick a Punch. Shhhh, there is also a wee bit of fussy cutting - I hope you don't mind.
The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, scored at 4 1/4" and cut in half at 5 1/2") in Mint Macaron cardstock. The next layer is Basic White cardstock, cut 3 3/4" x 5" and stamped with the large flower cluster image from Flowers of Friendship inked in Soft Succulent. The Designer Series Paper is from the Hand-Penned 12" x 12" DSP cut 4" x 1 1/4".
Punch #1 - Flowers & Leaves Punch
On a scrap of Pale Papaya cardstock, I stamped the flowers, twice, using Cinnamon Cider ink. I fussy cut one set of three flowers and the second set I punched the center petal of the flower using the small flower on the Flowers & Leaves punch. Just a small amount of trimming to get the petal to look just right and centered on those fussy cut flowers.
On a scrap of Mint Macaron cardstock, I stamped the leaves using Soft Succulent ink. A 1" x 4 1/4" strip is long enough to punch all four leaves following the pattern in this picture.
*The second strip in the image shows how the Just Jade looks on the Mint Macaron cardstock. I liked the Soft Succulent better.
Punch #2 - Label Me Fancy Punch
I believe that this is my...Favorite. Punch. Ever. And, I just don't use it enough. It is great for sentiments. This time I am using the punch vertically. The teeny, tiny hole is also part of this punch. For depth, I added two more punches of Vellum Cardstock and a short 1/2" strip of Pale Papaya in the back. String all of these together using the White 1/4" (6.4 MM) Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (with a hint of Pale Papaya ink from my fingers - so I just went with it!) and Linen Thread tied at the base of the ribbon to secure it.
Punch #3 - Banners Pick a Punch
The 1/2" strip of Pale Papaya cardstock peeks out of the bottom of the sentiment build and is flagged using the Banners Pick a Punch.
Whew. That is all there is to it! So, now it is time to check out the great project by our next blog hopper, Joy Nelson.
