Peaceful Garden - More than Just a Holiday-Themed Designer Series Paper

Just a quick post to remind everyone that there is still "life" left in your holiday pattern papers, and specifically Stampin' Up!'s "Designer Series Paper." Stampin' Up! gives you more bang for your buck with double-sided pattern papers in both 6" x 6" and 12" x 12" sizes. And, what I call the "B" side of those gorgeous papers is usually a beautiful, coordinating design to the theme-inspired design.

My card today shows off the "B" side from one of the sheets in the Peaceful Garden 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (and Sticker Sheet), Item #165917. This pattern paper creates a beautiful background for this birthday card. 

I also wanted to point out that this particular DSP has had a long life (in Stampin' Up! time) as it is part of the Peaceful Garden Suite collection, which was the featured product of the Creativity Now virtual and in-person event for Stampin' Up! demonstrators back in June 2025. I checked today and the DSP is still available for purchase, however, I recommend that you do not delay if you want some of this awesome paper. Oh, and there is also a beautiful packet of glimmer paper that coordinates. Peaceful Garden 12" x 12" Glimmer Paper, Item #165929.

August Paper Crafting Blog Hop

Hello, my crafty friends. Welcome to the August Paper Crafting Blog Hop! I am participating in this blog hop with fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators from across the globe! You might be starting the blog hop right now, or you may be coming from Sandra Roberts' blog (great project, Sandra!). Welcome one and all.

Suite spotlight is the August theme. We could pick a Suite from either the Annual Catalog or the new August-December 2020 Mini Catalog. Stampin' Up! defines a "Suite" as coordinating product (i.e. stamp sets, dies, punches, DSP, ribbon, gems, etc.) sold as a group under one (1) item number. I selected the Flowers for Every Season Suite (featured across AC pp. 10-13). It includes two (2) bundles: the Jar of Flowers bundle and the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle, plus a ton of other products including the beautifully coordinating DSP, a combo ribbon pack, the Memories & More cards and envelopes, the Memories & More card pack (for scrapbooking), gems and shaker domes. Whew!!

For my card today, I am using the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle - a large and small sunflower, leaves and beautiful sentiments, with coordinating dies. Although many of my crafting friends prefer Stampin' Up! bundles with punches, sometimes a die bundle is a must! This large sunflower die is a perfect opportunity for some paper piecing.

I cut the front panel of Cinnamon Cider down to 2 3/4" (removing 1 1/2" to reveal the inside panel). The sunflower and leaves are die cut and pieced together using the new 2020-22 In Colors - Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, and Just Jade cardstock (built on Basic Black secured using multipurpose liquid glue) - and centered on the card so that it hangs slightly over the edge. The panel mat is a beautiful strip of the Cinnamon Cider design from the Flowers for Every Season 6"x6" DSP (cut 2 1/2" x 5 1/4"). You must agree the Just Jade Gingham Ribbon is the perfect touch!

Sometimes we forget how important it is to show the inside panel of our cards. Here's a picture of my sentiment with a scattering of the small sunflowers in Bumblebee ink and a slim strip of the same Flowers for Every Season 6"x6" DSP. The beautiful sentiment can be used for any occasion or simply just because.

Simple Stamping Challenge Featuring Jar of Flowers Stamp Set

Hello, my crafty friends. The launch of a brand new Stampin' Up! catalog is always exciting. Hope you have been enjoying all the blogs, video blogs and Facebook posts showing off the new products - especially the new 2020-22 in colors. They are quite beautiful. Let me know what you think.

The Simple Stamping Challenge for June is to create a card using any stamp set from the new annual catalog and the new 2020-22 in colors. I thought it would be fun to try out the new Jar of Flowers Stamp Set with the challenge. What a beautiful stamp set!

Can you spot three (3) techniques used on this card?

Card Basics:  The card base is a side fold A2 (cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Misty Moonlight cardstock. The stamped layer of Whisper White cardstock is cut 5" x 3 3/4". After stamping the flowers, I created a mask for the lower portion of the flowers before stamping the mason jar, both images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Use the reverse image of the mason jar for stamping the water image using a second generation stamp of the Misty Moonlight ink. The flowers were colored using Blender Pens and Classic Stampin' Ink Refills (Bumblebee, Misty Moonlight, Cinnamon Cider, Cajun Craze, Old Olive).

To anchor the image and give the card some depth, I inked the striped line image in Misty Moonlight and stamped it across the bottom creating a ledge or shelf. The sentiments (card front and inside) are from the Well Said Stamp Set.

Give this super simple card a try! You could try it in any color, your choice.

Simple Stamping Challenge Featuring Animal Outing Stamp Set

Hello, my crafty friends. The theme for the March Simple Stamping challenge is BIRTHDAYS - my favorite! Products for this month's simple stamping card may include stamps, ink, and paper (including Designer Series Paper!). My card is a super easy, handmade card that you will be able to recreate with just about any birthday stamp set that you have in your craft supply arsenal!

The card base is a side fold (cut 5.5 x 8.5, scored at 4.25) Rich Razzleberry cardstock. The next layer is a 5.25 x 4 piece of the beautiful Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper. The embellishment build is a Whisper White square, backed with another square of Rich Razzleberry cardstock, simply stamped with the "wild" animals from the Animal Outing Stamp Set and the birthday wishes sentiment from the FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Sending You Thoughts.

This is really a simple card and I hope you will give it a try! I colored the images using the Watercolor Pencils, however, you could use whatever coloring method you enjoy!

Simple Stamping Challenge Featuring Colorful Seasons Stamp Set

Hello, my crafty friends. This week I thought I would share my card for the February Simple Stamping challenge. It is a super easy, handmade card that you will be able to easily replicate with any stamp set. The theme for this challenge is "just because." Let's get started.

The card base is a top fold (cut 4.25 x 11, scored at 5.5) in Lovely Lipstick cardstock. The next layer is a 3x3 square of Balmy Blue cardstock stamped with the Buffalo Check Background Stamp inked in Blueberry Bushel. The top layer (2.5 x 2.5) in Whisper White supports the beautiful flowers from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set inked in Lovely Lipstick and this beautiful sentiment inked in Blueberry Bushel. I added just a small strip of Call Me Clover behind the build, a smidge lower than center, for an eye-pleasing pause.
