Quick and Easy Card featuring Love For You Stamp Set for Valentine’s Day

Hello my crafty friends!! I could not resist this beautiful sentiment stamp set, Love For You, in the new mini catalog. The coordinating dies provide an assist for a wide variety of phrases.

The card base is Basic White Cardstock (full sheet of 8 ½" x 11”, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"), then fold and burnish the edge for a crisp, side fold A2 card. The background layer is Granny Apple Green, cut 4” x 5 1/4". The top panel is 3 3/4" square, then the four (4) square pieces, cut 1 3/4" square, are evenly spaced in a window-pane format. The squares are cut from the coordinating (and beautiful) Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is stamped in Granny Apple Green ink, die cut and arranged across the panel.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  This may look somewhat complicated, but trust me it is really quite simple.

Holiday Card 2022 Wrap Up

Hello my crafty friends!! It was truly crunch time for finishing up my holiday cards this year. Finished in the ‘Nick’ of time!! I took a break from blogging over the holidays so I wanted to share a couple of my favorites.

You may remember that I chose the Cottage Wreaths stamp set/bundle for my holiday cards. After much debate, I finally settled on traditional red and green colors. For bling, I created the bows from the Red and White Glitter Paper and the holly from the Gold Holly Leaves and red rhinestones.

This fun and whimsy card features one of the gnomes from the retired Kindest Gnomes stamp set. The candy cane is from the November Paper Pumpkin Kit, From the North Pole, and the base sentiment is from the October Paper Pumpkin Kit, Ho Ho Ho.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  To speed up the card-making process, I stamped and die cut or punched the elements and created small stacks for putting the cards together in a piece work fashion. The only coloring was the gnomes - after I stamped and die cut them, I colored them using SU Blends while watching TV!!

I (HEART):  Although a bit of a ‘project,’ I love the gnomes. I hope you do not miss out on the gnomes. 😊

November Paper Pumpkin Alternate Holiday Card - From The North Pole

 Hello my crafty friends!! Time to start working on those holiday cards if you have not started yet. Today’s card is quick and simple featuring the November Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set, From the North Pole. For inspiration, I chose the Freshly Made Card Sketch 557 from October 14.

The card base is in color Sweet Sorbet Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"), fold and burnish the edge for a crisp, side fold A2 card. The background layer is a piece of the Sweet Christmas Designer Series Paper, 4" x 4 1/4". The embellishment build is the deer stamp in a circle, die cut using the Layering Circles Dies, layered on a larger scallop circle in Garden Green.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  At this point, it is crunch time and using the card sketch, plus keeping it simple, will allow you to speed through your holiday card list. Happy Stampin’!!

Quick and Easy Birthday Card featuring Spruced Up Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends! Hope everyone had an excellent Thanksgiving! Things are going to get really busy now. Today’s share is this quick and easy birthday card using the holiday stamp set, Spruced Up.

The card base is Basic White Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"), fold and burnish the edge for a crisp, top fold A2 card. The first layer is Garden Green Cardstock, 3 3/4” x 5", and the top layer is a piece of the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper, 3 1/2" x 4 3/4". The embellishment build is the “present” die from the Spruced Up Outlines Dies (Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz) set on the layered hearts from the Heart Punch Pack. Create your own DSP using the “Happy” stamp from the Spruced Up Stamp Set.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  With all the different colors in the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper, there is certain to be a color scheme for everyone on your birthday list through the end of the year.

Quick and Easy Card for OnStage Swaps

Hello my crafty friends! So excited to attend OnStage in Jacksonville this past weekend. My swap card was this quick and easy, clean and simple holiday card featuring the Spruced Up Stamp Set.

The card base is Basic White Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11", cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"), fold and burnish the edge for a crisp, side fold A2 card. The next layer is Basic White Cardstock 4” x 5 1/4", scored 4 times in 1/8” increments along the left edge. The embellishment build uses the Stitched Rectangles (#2, #3).

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  Instead of making bows out of ribbon for all my swaps, I opted to use the die for the bow in the Cottage Wreaths using the Real Red 6x6 Glimmer Paper.

I (HEART):  This super cute tree stamp is perfect. 😊 

Thank you all for supporting me over the last 14 years (can you believe that!). I had such an amazing time on Saturday at OnStage. I really wish you all could have joined me. Quick and Easy Halloween Card

Hello my crafty friends! Eek!! This Halloween card features an element from the September Paper Pumpkin, Spooky Treats, and includes some leftover pieces from last year’s Cute Halloween DSP.

The card base is Highland Heather Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut in half lengthwise at 4 1/4," scored at 5 1/2"), fold and burnish the edge for a crisp, top fold A2 card. Behind the spiderweb element from the Paper Pumpkin kit is a solid piece of Pumpkin Pink Cardstock. The spider in the circle is hanging to the web using a small piece of the current Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  It appears that I am stuck in this 3-layer card design. Here’s hoping I can find another card design that I love just as much for my holiday cards!!

I (HEART):  Besides the spiderweb element from the Paper Pumpkin kit, I am loving this tiny spider stamp! 🕷🕷🕷 😊

Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends! The Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set (AC p. 34) makes an awesome birthday card! The card features the large sunflower in non-traditional colors and the ink is applied using the Blending Brushes.

The card base is Poppy Parade (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut in half at 5 1/2," scored at 4 1/4"), fold and burnish the edge for a crisp, side fold A2 card. The ink color for the sunflower is also Poppy Parade. The layers are different pieces of cardstock and printed paper featuring Poppy Parade and Flirty Flamingo. Use an embossing folder on the plain cardstock and any embossing folder will do because not much of it will show if it is the back layer.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  The brass butterflies and the black gingham ribbon really make this card.

I (HEART):  I have always loved the look of sentiments in white embossing powder on black cardstock. 😊

Quick and Easy Card Featuring Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set and Dies

Hello my crafty friends! As promised, we are going to switch over to fall-themed cards featuring the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set and Cottage Wreaths Dies. Today’s cards are full-on fall with colors and images of gourds (JD22, p. 58-59).

The card bases are Sahara Sand Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut in half at 5 1/2," scored at 4 1/4"), fold and burnish along the edge for a crisp, side fold A2 card. The first layer/mat is Cajun Craze or Mossy Meadow Cardstock (cut 4” x 5 1/4"). The Gingham Cottage 12x12 Designer Series Paper (“DSP”) that is part of the Gingham Cottage Suite is beautiful paper, but I went with the gourds and pumpkins on dark backgrounds from the Rustic Harvest 12x12 DSP.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  I thought it was time we should try out the new Split Card Textures dies (AC22, p. 86, 174). Most of the time when die cutting, we use the pieces that are die cut and toss the negative, or the scraps. However, with these dies, the negative of the die is the intended main event. I have been giving the dies a play and thought I could use some of the scraps for a background on this card. What do you think?

Quick and Easy Card Featuring Let’s Set Sail Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends! Before switching over to fall themed cards, let me show you this quick and easy card using the Let’s Set Sail Stamp Set combined with the Sailboat Builder Punch. Perfect for birthday cards for those that love the water (AC p. 80, 151).

The card base is Basic White Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut in half at 5 1/2," scored at 4 1/4"), fold and burnish the edge for a crisp, top fold A2 card. The ink color for the sails is Crushed Curry. The cardstock for the boat and mast is Night of Navy. The ink color for the water is Balmy Blue with the boat’s shadow in Night of Navy. The scene is die cut using one of the Scalloped Contours dies and layered on a slightly larger mat of Balmy Blue Cardstock.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  If you are looking for a multi-occasion card to have on hand, this quick and easy card would be a good pick for mass producing. Of course, the Sailboat Builder Punch is not required, but it certainly eliminates the need for fussy cutting to reduce production time. I would say this card can be completed in less than ten minutes once the supplies are all lined up.

❤️❤️❤️:  Besides the fact that this card is simple, I love the flock of birds. Truly makes this card seem so peaceful. 😊

Quick and Easy Book Binding Fun Fold Card Featuring Garden Birdhouses Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends! This card is a fun fold called “book binding” or “book fold” and perfect for showcasing the Garden Birdhouses stamp set (AC p. 96).

The card base is the new 2022-24 in color Tahitian Tide Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut lengthwise at 4 1/4,” and then scored at 4 1/4" and 5 1/2." The center score line (5 1/2") remains the edge for this side fold A2 card and the side with the additional score line is the “front” of the card. To create the book binding effect, on the inside of the front of the card, apply adhesive to this 1 1/4" strip to secure the left-hand side of the card. Using a bone folder, burnish the 4 1/4" score line.

Next, decorate the two separate sections on the front of the card. The DSP strip on the left side measures 1” x 4.” The layer on the right side measures 3 3/4" x 3 3/4.” (Normally, this layer is 4 x 4, however, to keep it symmetrical with the rectangles created by the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch, this layer is 1/4" smaller. If you need a layer for the inside sentiment, I would use a 4 x 4 layer.)

I love the Hello sentiment in this stamp set and it is placed at a bit of an angle. When I do this card again, I plan to use one of the other bird images so that it is facing the birdhouse instead of leading off the right of the card. 

The Garden Birdhouses stamp set had been on my “want list” since it was first introduced in the 2020-21 Annual Catalog. I am so happy that I finally have added it to my collection.
