Craft Event for April Sales Achievers

Hello my crafty friends. So lucky to have earned the DSP reward for sales in April and to be able to participate in the Achievers’ Party on July 11. I substituted Painted Lavender dies for the suggested Thoughtful Wishes dies, but otherwise my cards followed the plan. The Countryside Rose DSP (in pinks!) was a lovely reward – cannot wait to share with everyone at our workshop on Saturday!

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  The Iridescent Faceted Gems reflect the surrounding colors. So pretty!

I (HEART):  The Countryside Rose DSP is beautiful. Without a complete study, it is very similar to the Countryside Inn DSP in blues on p. 109 of the 2024-25 Annual Catalog. 😊

Quick card for Father’s Day featuring Gone Fishing Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends. Before the day is over, I want to wish everyone a Happy Father’s Day and thank you. This is a quick card using the Gone Fishing Stamp Set. The images in this stamp set are great. Check it out!!

This is a landscape A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and burnish the top for a crisp edge. The measurements for the DSP strip is 5 1/4" long x 2” wide, cover the top edge with some awesome gingham ribbon and pick a couple of images (I chose the fishing lures) and sentiment for the top of the panel.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  I saved this piece of the DSP just for this occasion, but you could create your own with the images from this stamp set.

I (HEART):  The linen thread bow is one of my favorite accents! 😊

Quick card featuring the Hooray for Surprises Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends. A snapshot of a quick card from this month’s workshop using a sheet from the new Unbounded Beauty 12" x 12" DSP in Peach Pie and the flower and sweet sentiment from the Hooray for Surprises stamp set. Thankfully this stamp set carried over from the mini catalog. The coordinating dies create an interactive method for sharing surprises. Check it out and find your fun!!

This is a landscape A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and burnish the top for a crisp edge. The measurements for the DSP pieces are: 2 1/2" long x 2” wide (top left), 3/4" long x 2” wide (bottom left), and 1 1/2" long x 2 1/2" wide (top right). Stamp the flower image in the bottom right in coordinating color (my sample is the 2024-26 In Color Peach Pie. Add a couple of the coordinating embellishments from the 2024-26 In Color Resin Dots.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  A great way to use up scraps of this yummy DSP.

I (HEART):  This Peach Pie sheet of the new Unbounded Beauty 12" x 12" DSP is my favorite, but all of them are special. I will try to use this pack of DSP instead of hoarding it! 😊

One Last Card using Color and Contour Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends. The new catalog is live now (May 1) and chock full of awesomeness. The card today uses the retiring (retired) Color and Contour stamp set and dies. Hard to say why I really like this stamp set, but I think number 1 is the way the flowers are not perfect. And the dies are so fun. Go online now and find your fun!!

This is a portrait A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and burnish for a crisp edge. Use the scallop edging die to create the scallop edge. The mat is from the Gorgeous Gingham 6x6 DSP, also retiring (retired), and save a short strip for the inside edge.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  This is a fun way to change up a portrait card.

I (HEART):  Using up more of the little pieces of the Gorgeous Gingham 6x6 DSP. I will be hoarding this paper for as long as I possibly can! 😊

Birthday Card Featuring Sentiment from Biggest Wish Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends. Check out this birthday card…this is one of my favorite techniques for a quick background with pizzazz. The sentiment is from the Biggest Wish Stamp Set. It is a great go-to sentiment set, but it is on the retiring list. Be sure to check out the Last Chance Sale to pick up your favorites before they are gone.

This is a landscape A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and burnish the top side for a crisp edge. The background is created with half inch strips in rainbow colors from my scrap pile. Line up the strips at an angle on a mat of any color, cut  5” x 4”, and adhere using liquid glue so that you can easily move around the strips. Once the mat is totally covered, trim the edges down to 5” x 4”.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  I sure hope this makes sense because it is super easy and a fun way to use up those scraps.

I (HEART):  After completing the mat, just have fun with the sentiment embellishment. Pull out all your birthday-themed stamp sets and mix and match. 😊

March Simple Stamping Challenge Features Designer Series Paper. Your Choice!

Hello my crafty friends. The March #SimpleStamping challenge includes stamps, ink and paper AND Designer Series Paper (“DSP”). My card design showcases the super sweet stamp set, Sweet Songbirds, and my choice for the DSP is from the 2023-25 In Color Pack. What have you been crafting lately?

This is a landscape A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and burnish the top side for a crisp edge. If you first place the sentiment in the top left corner, you can arrange the birds and leaves/tree branches in the upper half of the card front. The DSP mat measures 1 1/2" x 5 1/2".

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  The blue birds are so cute in the Boho Blue from the 2023-25 In Color Collection and are matchy, matchy with the DSP.

I (HEART):  The turned up bottom right corner of the DSP showcasing several stamped flowers in Pumpkin Pie. 😊

Quick Card Featuring the Cutest Cow Stamp Set – It is the Cutest!

Hello my crafty friends. This card features the Cutest Cow Stamp Set and coordinating punch. I am sure you will agree that this cow is just adorable. Happy stamping!!

This is a portrait A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and burnish the side for a crisp edge. The mat is Copper Clay with a super cute coordinating piece of DSP from the B side of the Trusty Toolbox DSP (retired 2024 Sale-A-Bration). Use the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies for stamping the sunflowers and secure your cow created from the Cow Builder Punch.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  I used the Copper Clay color scheme for my cow, but have fun with it and find the color scheme you prefer.

I (HEART):  Hard to see in this still photo, but I used an adhesive wobble spring to raise the cow’s head and allow it to bounce around. Super cute. 😊 (Tip: Search for the adhesive wobble spring online - they are not a product sold by Stampin’ Up!)

Quick Tips for Creating a Card that Features the Designer Series Paper

Hello my crafty friends. Hope you were able to earn the Designer Series Paper Softly Stippled (see p. 8 of the Sale-A-Bration Catalog). The colors and designs are beautiful, which calls for a card where the paper is the main event, and both sides of the paper! Of course, you already know that time is of the essence to earn this beautiful paper as Sale-A-Bration ends on February 29.

This is a portrait A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" – and then (I know this is shocking) cut off 3 1/2" of the front panel (set this 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece aside for the sentiment build). Find your favorite sheet of the DSP and cut a panel measuring 4” x 5 1/2". Run a small strip of adhesive along the left side of the DSP and attach the DSP to the 3/4" panel. This will create the ability to show off both sides of this lovely paper.

The sentiment is also from a Sale-A-Bration stamp set – Heartfelt Hellos, inked in a coordinating color, and punched with the Handmade Tag punch. The sentiment is layered on a second punch of Handmade Tag punch in the scrap piece cut from the front flap of the card. You will need 2 of these punches, but to make it work takes a little effort with cutting up the tags in 2 pieces and layering.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  If you find that layering the multiple punches of the Handmade Tag is a little much, you could swap that out with a 2 3/8” circle punch that would fit nicely behind the Handmade Tag punch.

I (HEART):  I love the ability to view both sides of the DSP with this card design. I hope you give it a try. And, love, love, love the tiniest brushed brass butterfly accent. Sweet. 😊

Quick Card featuring the Country Bouquet Stamp Set and Punch

Hello my crafty friends. Nothing but hearts this week for Valentine’s Day on Wednesday. This card includes many hearts, both large and small, created from multiple punches, including the Country Bouquet punch. Love the hearts falling up and out of the envelope. Happy Valentine’s Day.

This is a portrait A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and burnish the side for a crisp edge. Find your favorite heart punches and punch away. The envelope was crafted from a small piece of retired DSP in a neutral color to avoid clashing with the bright-colored hearts. The sentiment is from Country Bouquet Stamp Set and stamped in Real Red.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  You might have identified some of the heart punches, but….maybe not the smallest heart. That was quite a dig through my punches to find this tiny heart, part of the retired Dog Builder Punch. So don’t be afraid to browse through your collection of punches and dies to put together a collage of hearts for this valentine’s day.

I (HEART):  I love the envelope creation, however, I would be lying if I said that it was easy-peasy to make. I used some circle dies to round the edges. It turned out pretty sweet. 😊

Quick Card featuring the Perennial Lavender Suite Collection

Hello my crafty friends. This is a simple card with a real wow factor using the Painted Lavender Stamp Set, the Perennial Postage Dies and the coordinating Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (DSP)! Love the DSP. So beautiful. What do you think?

This is a portrait A2 card: full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11” cardstock, cut in half at 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and burnish the side for a crisp edge. I decided not to use the largest Perennial Postage Die for the main mat, just a straight cut 4” x 5 1/4", a small build behind the flowers, and fussy cut the “always” sentiment from the Perennial Postage Stamp Set.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  Splurge for the entire collection of goodies and enjoy the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems and the Paper Butterfly Accents (next week’s birthday card).

I (HEART):  Purple!! I really, really love the coordinating colors with the purples in the Perennial Lavender DSP. 😊
