Quick and Easy Card for OnStage Swaps

Hello my crafty friends! So excited to attend OnStage in Jacksonville this past weekend. My swap card was this quick and easy, clean and simple holiday card featuring the Spruced Up Stamp Set.

The card base is Basic White Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11", cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"), fold and burnish the edge for a crisp, side fold A2 card. The next layer is Basic White Cardstock 4” x 5 1/4", scored 4 times in 1/8” increments along the left edge. The embellishment build uses the Stitched Rectangles (#2, #3).

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  Instead of making bows out of ribbon for all my swaps, I opted to use the die for the bow in the Cottage Wreaths using the Real Red 6x6 Glimmer Paper.

I (HEART):  This super cute tree stamp is perfect. 😊

Thank you all for supporting me over the last 14 years (can you believe that!). I had such an amazing time on Saturday at OnStage. I really wish you all could have joined me. Next year is the 35th year of Stampin’ Up! – I think you should become a demonstrator soon so that you can participate in all the fun things planned to celebrate.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope my project has inspired your creativity. I would love to see what you have created. Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you so I can find your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it.

Quick and Easy Halloween Card

Hello my crafty friends! Eek!! This Halloween card features an element from the September Paper Pumpkin, Spooky Treats, and includes some leftover pieces from last year’s Cute Halloween DSP.

The card base is Highland Heather Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut in half lengthwise at 4 1/4," scored at 5 1/2"), fold and burnish the edge for a crisp, top fold A2 card. Behind the spiderweb element from the Paper Pumpkin kit is a solid piece of Pumpkin Pink Cardstock. The spider in the circle is hanging to the web using a small piece of the current Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  It appears that I am stuck in this 3-layer card design. Here’s hoping I can find another card design that I love just as much for my holiday cards!!

I (HEART):  Besides the spiderweb element from the Paper Pumpkin kit, I am loving this tiny spider stamp! 🕷🕷🕷 😊

Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends! The Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set (AC p. 34) makes an awesome birthday card! The card features the large sunflower in non-traditional colors and the ink is applied using the Blending Brushes.

The card base is Poppy Parade (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut in half at 5 1/2," scored at 4 1/4"), fold and burnish the edge for a crisp, side fold A2 card. The ink color for the sunflower is also Poppy Parade. The layers are different pieces of cardstock and printed paper featuring Poppy Parade and Flirty Flamingo. Use an embossing folder on the plain cardstock and any embossing folder will do because not much of it will show if it is the back layer.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  The brass butterflies and the black gingham ribbon really make this card.

I (HEART):  I have always loved the look of sentiments in white embossing powder on black cardstock. 😊

Quick and Easy Card Featuring Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set and Dies

Hello my crafty friends! As promised, we are going to switch over to fall-themed cards featuring the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set and Cottage Wreaths Dies. Today’s cards are full-on fall with colors and images of gourds (JD22, p. 58-59).

The card bases are Sahara Sand Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut in half at 5 1/2," scored at 4 1/4"), fold and burnish along the edge for a crisp, side fold A2 card. The first layer/mat is Cajun Craze or Mossy Meadow Cardstock (cut 4” x 5 1/4"). The Gingham Cottage 12x12 Designer Series Paper (“DSP”) that is part of the Gingham Cottage Suite is beautiful paper, but I went with the gourds and pumpkins on dark backgrounds from the Rustic Harvest 12x12 DSP.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  I thought it was time we should try out the new Split Card Textures dies (AC22, p. 86, 174). Most of the time when die cutting, we use the pieces that are die cut and toss the negative, or the scraps. However, with these dies, the negative of the die is the intended main event. I have been giving the dies a play and thought I could use some of the scraps for a background on this card. What do you think?

I (HEART):  Fun cards to make, but the Silver-Threaded Twine is super cute – love that silver strand. 😊

Quick and Easy Card Featuring Let’s Set Sail Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends! Before switching over to fall themed cards, let me show you this quick and easy card using the Let’s Set Sail Stamp Set combined with the Sailboat Builder Punch. Perfect for birthday cards for those that love the water (AC p. 80, 151).

The card base is Basic White Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut in half at 5 1/2," scored at 4 1/4"), fold and burnish the edge for a crisp, top fold A2 card. The ink color for the sails is Crushed Curry. The cardstock for the boat and mast is Night of Navy. The ink color for the water is Balmy Blue with the boat’s shadow in Night of Navy. The scene is die cut using one of the Scalloped Contours dies and layered on a slightly larger mat of Balmy Blue Cardstock.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  If you are looking for a multi-occasion card to have on hand, this quick and easy card would be a good pick for mass producing. Of course, the Sailboat Builder Punch is not required, but it certainly eliminates the need for fussy cutting to reduce production time. I would say this card can be completed in less than ten minutes once the supplies are all lined up.

❤️❤️❤️:  Besides the fact that this card is simple, I love the flock of birds. Truly makes this card seem so peaceful. 😊

Quick and Easy Book Binding Fun Fold Card Featuring Garden Birdhouses Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends! This card is a fun fold called “book binding” or “book fold” and perfect for showcasing the Garden Birdhouses stamp set (AC p. 96).

The card base is the new 2022-24 in color Tahitian Tide Cardstock (full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11, cut lengthwise at 4 1/4,” and then scored at 4 1/4" and 5 1/2." The center score line (5 1/2") remains the edge for this side fold A2 card and the side with the additional score line is the “front” of the card. To create the book binding effect, on the inside of the front of the card, apply adhesive to this 1 1/4" strip to secure the left-hand side of the card. Using a bone folder, burnish the 4 1/4" score line.

Next, decorate the two separate sections on the front of the card. The DSP strip on the left side measures 1” x 4.” The layer on the right side measures 3 3/4" x 3 3/4.” (Normally, this layer is 4 x 4, however, to keep it symmetrical with the rectangles created by the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch, this layer is 1/4" smaller. If you need a layer for the inside sentiment, I would use a 4 x 4 layer.)

I love the Hello sentiment in this stamp set and it is placed at a bit of an angle. When I do this card again, I plan to use one of the other bird images so that it is facing the birdhouse instead of leading off the right of the card.

The Garden Birdhouses stamp set had been on my “want list” since it was first introduced in the 2020-21 Annual Catalog. I am so happy that I finally have added it to my collection.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope my project has inspired your creativity. I would love to see what you have created. Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you so I can find your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it.

Card Sketch Challenge Featuring Cup of Tea Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends! The craft table is cleaned off - not really! - and ready for some stamping. Today I want to share with you this card I created using a card sketch from Freshly Made Sketches from a couple of weeks ago and the Cup of Tea Stamp Set (AC 12-13).

The card base is Basic White Cardstock, cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4," for a side fold A2 card. The horizontal strip of the Tea Boutique DSP is purposely cut 1 1/2" x 4" in order to maximize the number of cards you can create from one sheet of this 6" x 6" DSP. Without measuring, it is adhered across the center of the Blushing Bride layer, cut 5 1/4" x 4."

Stamp the leafy image slightly above the center of a 3" x 4" piece of Basic White. I used Pear Pizzazz classic ink for the leafy image and the 2022-24 in color Sweet Sorbet classic ink for the spray of flowers. The tea cup is stamped in the 2022-24 in color Starry Sky on the Starry Sky Cardstock. Accent is the lemon wedge stamped in Daffodil Delight classic ink.

To complete the sketch, the sentiment is stamped on a strip of Basic White and adhered to a 1/2" strip of Sweet Sorbet Cardstock.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope my project has inspired your creativity. I would love to see what you have created. Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you so I can find your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it.

Quick and Easy Layer Card Featuring Butterfly Kisses DSP

Hello my crafty friends! Time to get back to crafting on a weekly basis. What do you say? Let's do it. Today I wanted to share with you a super quick and easy layer card.

The card base is a Calypso Coral cardstock A2 card, 5 1/2" x 8 ½", scored at 4 1/4" for a side fold card. The first layer is the new 2022-24 In Color Parakeet Party, cut 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" and run through the Stampin' Cut 'n Emboss Machine using the Stripes and Splatters 3D Embossing Folder for texture. The next layer is a super cute piece of the Butterfly Kisses 6x6 DSP, cut 3" x 4". The top layer is a coordinating piece from the same DSP pack, cut 2 3/4" x 3 3/4". I hand cut a flagged end and added a couple of handmade embellishments and a touch of fancy with the bow. (Here's hoping that you noticed the tiny sentiment from the Lovely You Stamp Set and the cute flower stamp from the Cup of Tea Stamp Set!)

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope my project has inspired your creativity. I would love to see what you have created. Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you so I can find your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it.

Another Quick and Easy Card featuring Hello Ladybug

Hello my crafty friends! I am sharing another card with one of my favorite stamp sets, Hello Ladybug. This stamp set coordinates with the Ladybug Builder Punch.

I recently learned how to create a book fold card, which may sound difficult yet this style would still be classified as casual. This is a side fold A2 card with an additional score line (score at 5 1/2" and 7"). The left side of the card front is glued closed (1 1/2") and the right panel (4") offers a smaller panel for stamping. The sentiments in this stamp set are lovely, but this card was for my niece's birthday. I love the font of this sentiment from the February 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit.

We are certainly lucky to have the Hello Ladybug Bundle (10% bundle savings) around for another week, but even more lucky that the stamp set and punch have carried over to the new 2022-23 Annual Catalog for purchase separately (no longer available at a discount).

I am still trying to get back on schedule with my Weekly Wednesday blog posts, but I am not giving up. I am focusing more on cards and projects and shorter posts. As always, if you need more details about a card or information at any time, just send me an email or text message.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  I hope this project has inspired your creativity. I would love to see what you have created. Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you so I can find your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it.

Stamp On!!

Creating a simple card featuring Celebrating You

Hello my crafty friends! This week I wanted to share with you a simple card.

The first layer is the Starry Sky sheet from the new 2022-24 In Color DSP assortment. It is cut to cover the front of an A2 card, 4 1/4" × 5 1/2", so if you do not have a paper trimmer and feel this might be too challenging to get the edges perfect, go ahead and make it a 4 x 5 1/4 so that there is a white border. Careful not to glue down the area where you plan to punch the heart and save the heart punch for the inside of the card.

The splattering of hearts were die cut from the dies in the Tea Cup Dies and the sentiment is from Celebrating You Stamp Set. Of course you could substitute any sentiment you wish for the flagged strip.

After my long weekend in New York in May, I came down with the flu so there was not a crafty bone in my body. Still a pretty cute card for my hubby for our anniversary. Hope you will agree.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope my project has inspired your creativity. I would love to see what you have created. Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you so I can find your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it.
