July Paper Crafting Blog Hop

Hello, my crafty friends. Welcome to the July Paper Crafting Blog Hop! I am participating in this blog hop with fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators from across the globe! You might be starting the blog hop right now, or you may be coming from Joy Nelson's blog. Great project, Joy. Welcome one and all.

This month our blog hop is spotlighting the Designer Series Paper Sale. Select DSP from the 2021-22 Annual Catalog is on sale this month (15% discount). YAY!! Such a great deal. You know I cannot resist a deal. Here's my fancy DSP card.

The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in the new 2021-23 In Color Evening Evergreen cardstock. The next layer is Mint Macaron cardstock, cut 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" and embossed with one of the Greenery Embossing Folders.

My DSP choice is from the Hand Penned 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper. This DSP is also a product featured in the Hand-Penned Suite (AC pp. 104-105). I cut one strip 3" x 12" and then cut into 3 equal pieces, 3" x 4". I think a picture would help here:

The Pale Papaya side is flagged on the bottom edge and adhered to the flower print side. (Save the third piece for another card!) I added a piece of White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, dyed it to match (drag it across the Pale Papaya ink pad, wipe off excess, let dry a bit) and tied in a cute bow (so pretty).

I added this large circle die with a mid-sized stitched star cut in the center. You won't believe that I bought the Stitched Stars dies long ago and this is the first time I have used them. I am going to be using this die set a LOT more!

Finally, if you have been following my weekly blog posts, you know that this month I am featuring the Many Messages Stamp Set and Messages Die in all of my projects. I now have large pile of sentiments to choose from any time I make a card. It has really simplified card making. For this card, I did a little masking to create the second flagged sentiment for my birthday wishes.

Simple Stamping Challenge Featuring Many Messages Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends! Hope your week is going great. I missed participating in the simple stamping challenge last month so it was my mission to join fellow demonstrators with a card for the July Simple Stamping Challenge. This month the challenge is to create a "thinking of you" card using only stamps, ink and paper, plus Designer Series Paper!!

As you know, this month I am featuring cards using sentiments from the Many Messages Stamp Set. I thought this sweet "hello" message was perfect for the challenge. The card in the second panel is to show our beginner stampers how easy it would be to step up this #simplestamping card.

The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Misty Moonlilght cardstock. The DSP panel is the coordinating 2020-22 in color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut 4" x 5 1/4".

I used a "different" die cut from the Message Die for the sentiment. It turned out cute. Give the #simplestamping challenge a try!

The second card is very similar with an small embellishment using the cocktail image from the Nothing's Better Than Stamp Set. Super cute.

Quick and Easy Handmade Card Featuring Many Messages Stamp Set

Hello my crafty friends! Today I want to show you this quick and easy card using sentiments from the Many Messages Stamp Set. My card design inspiration is from a Freshly Made Sketch from a couple of weeks ago. #FMS490

The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Polished Pink cardstock. The DSP strip is the coordinating 2021-23 in color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut 1 1/2" x 5 1/2". 

The embellishment build is a super cute stitched flower and several leaves from the Pierced Blooms dies (coordinates with the In Bloom Stamp Set) set on a 2 1/4" circle. This die set is so cool! I have made multiple runs of the dies in all the 2021-23 in colors so I can mix and match up the flowers.

I stamped a panel of the Many Messages stamp using Polished Pink and had my choice of sentiments for the front of my card.

Normally I don't include an inside sentiment until I am ready to give/send my cards, but since I am featuring the Many Messages Stamp Set this month, I thought I might show off how easy it is to use this set for both the front and inside sentiments.

Quick and Easy Handmade Card Featuring Painted Poppies and Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Sets

Hello my crafty friends. I love the summer months, but things really get busy during this time. I know it does for you too. Today I thought I would be quick and show off this card I made during the June 19 workshop.

The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Basic White cardstock. The next layer is Fresh Freesia cardstock, cut 4" x 5 1/4". The embellishment build is a 3" x 3" piece of the In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper. Important note: This 3" square cut makes the most use of one sheet of the In Color DSP. The field of poppies image is stamped on a 2 1/2" square piece of Basic White cardstock to fit within the DSP square. I used Stampin' Blends (Highland Heather and Calyspo Coral) to color the poppies.

If you watched my Facebook workshop video, I share that I created the card "on the fly" although I did base the design on my Blog Hop shaker card from June 16. Once I placed the field of poppies on the card base, the embellishment build did not stand out until I added a 3/16" strip of Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

The butterfly is one of the smaller butterflies from the Butterfly Brilliance SS.  The sentiment is from Hey Birthday Chick SS (I love this font!). And don't forget a couple of adhesive-backed sequins for some bling!.

June Paper Crafting Blog Hop

The theme for this month's blog hop is birthdays and today's card was inspired by my sister's recent shaker card for my niece's birthday. For her card she used the Hey Birthday Chick Stamp Set, but I wanted to use some of the butterflies from Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set to accent the row of poppies image from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set.

The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Basic White cardstock. To create the shaker piece, first stamp the poppies image on a scrap of Basic White and die cut it with the #5 circle die. It is layered on this wild circle die cut from Painted Labels dies in Rich Razzleberry. This 2" circle fits perfectly! The background is Mango Melody cs, cut 3 1/4 " by 5", and embossed using the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder.

My shaker bits collection: 1) several of the Artistry Blooms Sequins in Rich Razzleberry (oops, one is really high and hidden by the frame!) and adhered in the centers of the embossed flower images, 2) I glued down a couple of solid Rich Razzleberry butterfly die cuts, and 3) a couple of pinches of the Painted Poppies Sequins. These are retired now, but I still had some in my stash -- the colors match perfectly!!

To create the shaker: I adhered the Mango Melody cs to a bit wider Basic White piece, cut 3 3/4" x 5", and the whole thing goes into a CLEAR envelope! Add the couple pinches of sequins and carefully turn it over to seal the envelope. The envelope is larger than the cardstock so fold up two of the sides and tape them down. Because the shaker "packet" will be smaller than the Stitched Rectangle frame (the #6 from center die fits perfect), you can just adhere the packet straight to the card base and then adhere the Rich Razzleberry frame. Voilà!!

How about the CLEAR envelope for a shaker hack! Let me know if this is the first you have heard of this.

Quick and Easy Handmade Card Featuring In Bloom Stamp Set v2

Hello my crafty friends. I really enjoyed creating last week's card with all the die cut pieces from the Pierced Blossom Dies. This week I thought I would use up some of the left over die cut pieces and use a technique called sponging.

The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Soft Succulent cardstock. The flower images are die cut using the Polished Pink and Pale Papaya cardstock and the leaves are die cut using the Soft Succulent cardstock. Exactly like we did for last week's card.

To create the brick wall, emboss a piece of Basic White (1 1/4" wide and 4 1/8" long) using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Ink a Sponge Dauber in Soft Suede ink and lightly swipe across the raised bricks. Using a light touch to the paper will allow the background to remain white and make this fantastic-looking brick wall.

To create the cloud effect, hand cut a scrap of cardstock with scallop edges. Ink a Sponge Dauber in Balmy Blue ink and holding the cardstock flush to the Basic White background, lightly swipe across and off the edges. Continue to sponge while moving the hand cut template around the flowers in a similar direction from the bottom to the top of your card. It may take some practice, but you will soon be creating your own fantastic fluffy clouds.

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in Soft Succulent on the 1/2" strip that makes the ledge of my wall.

NOTE: The bundle pricing retires on June 30, however, both the In Bloom Stamp Set and Pierced Blooms Dies will carry over and be sold separately in the 2021-22 Annual Catalog.

Quick and Easy Handmade Card Featuring In Bloom Stamp Set

Hello, my crafty friends. Another crazy, busy week. Make it stop! How about you? Not much time for stamping this weekend so this is a really quick and easy card using the In Bloom Stamp Set/Bundle. This card features mostly the Pierced Blooms Dies showing off the new 2021-23 In Colors. Such a pretty card.

The card base is a side fold, portrait A2 (8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut in half at 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4") in Soft Succulent cardstock. The flower images are die cut using the Polished Pink and Pale Papaya cardstock and the leaves are die cut using the Soft Succulent cardstock.

Everything is arranged on a Basic White cardstock die cut with the largest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and layered on two pieces cut from a sheet of the coordinating In Color DSP. An accent strip of Gold Foil peeks out from behind the build. 

The only stamping is the Happy Birthday sentiment in Fresh Freesia.

NOTE: The bundle pricing retires on June 30, however, both the In Bloom Stamp Set and Pierced Blooms Dies will carry over and be sold separately in the 2021-22 Annual Catalog.
