Quick and Easy Cards featuring Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper

Hello my crafty friends!! There is just over 40 days left to get your very own package of the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper. I have no idea if there is plenty of this great paper available or if Stampin’ Up! is close to running out -- I suspect we are very close to running out. Check out these two cards that feature the bicycles with baskets of flowers.

The first card (left) features a strip of the bicycles and prominently displays the new Alphabet A’ La Mode dies spelling out LOVE. For the second card (bottom right), I have punched out one of the bicycles using the rectangular postage stamp punch. Super simple, but really cute. Check out the top right corner for a snip-it of the full page of all the hearts that match up to the Country Bouquet Punch.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:  How about these soft color combinations and the pop of red (2022-24 In Color Sweet Sorbet)!

I (HEART):  No secret here, I love the old-fashioned look of the bicycles. What is your favorite? 😊

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope my project has inspired your creativity. I would love to see what you have created. Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you so I can find your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it.

Stamp On!!

July Paper Crafting Blog Hop

Hello, my crafty friends. Welcome to the July Paper Crafting Blog Hop! I am participating in this blog hop with fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators from across the globe! You might be starting the blog hop right now, or you may be coming from Sandra Roberts' blog (great project, Sandra!). Welcome one and all.

This month everyone's projects feature Designer Series Paper ("DSP") from the 2020-21 Annual Catalog. I think you would agree with me that the choice is difficult as there are so many excellent choices. For my projects today, I thought I would use the Flowers for Every Season 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper. The sheet I picked from the 12 double-sided sheets is quite subtle compared to the others in this collection. It features beautiful lighter shades of Cinnamon Cider for the rose, among Misty Moonlight flowers and background, and a sprinkle of Just Jade leaves - all new 2020-22 In Colors.

My project is a simple 3" x 3" gift box. It may hold 5 or 6 cards depending on the height of your embellishments. I make Thank You cards in this size that I tuck in with my hand-delivered customer orders. I am gifting this box of cards (so no picture of the cards inside!), but I have included a picture of a couple of full size cards.

How cool is that Denim ribbon? It coordinates perfectly with Misty Moonlight! The box base and card bases are Just Jade and the accent pieces are Shaded Spruce. These colors coordinate perfectly, too! Plus, for a splash of color, I picked Melon Mambo for the cutsie butterfly and flowers cut from the Well Written dies.

As always, thank you for stopping by my blog today! Feel free to leave a positive comment below with a trail to find you and your creations out on the "www" - I look forward to it!. Do not forget to check out the great project by our next blog hopper, Sue McDonald.

Easy Handmade Card Using This Little Piggy Stamp Set 2.0

Hello, my crafty friends. Here's a quick and easy remake of last week's card using This Little Piggy (AC p. 33) for an easel/spinner card. If you missed last week's card, click HERE to see it.
Easy Handmade Card Using This Little Piggy Stampin Up Stamp Set
This sweet card is made with the same materials as last week's card with some minor additions.  Again, start with a Mint Macaron Cardstock base and the 2" x 5 1/2" piece from the new 2019-21 In Color Designer Series Paper in Pretty Peacock. The window is created using two (2) of the Layering Squares dies. The cute pig is created using the mirror/reflection stamping method, then fussy cut and glued together with the linen thread with several twists for the spinning action.

If you feel that a detailed instruction sheet would help you recreate this card yourself, please send me a message and I will respond with a list of dimensions and product guide.

Easy Handmade Card Using This Little Piggy Stamp Set

Hello, my crafty friends. Hope you enjoyed last week's card for the Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop! If you missed it, click HERE for a quick jump to get all the details. I thought this week I would share a simple design for quick and easy cardmaking. The stamp set is This Little Piggy (AC p. 33).
This sweet card starts with a Mint Macaron Cardstock base that coordinates beautifully with this 2" x 5 1/2" piece from the new 2019-21 In Color Designer Series Paper in Pretty Peacock. These two colors complement each other very well.  I used one of each of the three sizes of the coordinating Faceted Gems.

If you feel that a detailed instruction sheet would help you recreate this card yourself, please send me a message and I will respond with a list of dimensions and product guide.

Coffee Break Designer Series Paper Follow Up

Just a quick follow up to my post on Wednesday. In yesterday's blog hop, I shared my Coffee Cafe' Card version 2.0 where I mixed up the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper (DSP) to make a new card out of leftover packets from a previous card. I hope you enjoyed the blog hop. What a fabulous group of demonstrators I have found that love to share everything Stampin' Up!

As promised, today I am sharing my template and instructions for cutting the DSP to make this card.

The Crumb Cake card stock base is a standard A2, 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4 1/4" (envelope size - 4-3/8” x 5-3/4”). The next layer is Soft Sky card stock, 4" x 5 1/4". This will be the base for layering our cut pieces and the new background for our cute, cute coffee cup embellishment.

Instructions for cutting DSP:

The original size of the DSP from the previous pack was 3 7/8" x 5". The first step is to cut 1/8" off both the short and long sides (Cuts #1, #2 grayed out with a Tranquil Tide Stampin' Write Marker, of course!). The new measurement of the DSP is 3 3/4" x 4 7/8". (Pardon my rudimentary drawings, but cute balloons, right?)

Next cut a 1" strip from the long side (Cut #3). You can chose either long side. I picked the left side to take advantage of the numbers along the edge for this picture.  Place both pieces together and cut at 3" (Cut #4) so that there is the nice, big piece of your "favorite" side of the DSP for the bottom left of your card front.

That is really all there is to it. However, if you are starting from all scraps, the sizes are (top left, clockwise, from the photo of the card, not the template.):

1. 1" x1 7/8'
2. 2 5/8" x 1 7/8"
3. 1" x 3"
4. 2 5/8" x 3"

Coffee Break Designer Series Paper

Welcome to the April Blog Hop. Once again I am participating in a hop with fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all over the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia! You might be starting the blog hop right now, or you maybe coming from Darla Roberts' blog. Welcome one and all. The theme for our blog this month is to create a card or project using Coffee Break Designer Series Paper. Several months ago, I featured this card using the Coffee Cafe' Bundle and Coffee Break Designer Series Paper at a workshop. Actually it is a pretty simple card. The stamp sets and die cuts really do take all the work out of card making. Add a bow with the beautiful ribbon and done!

For some reason I never got around to breaking down my extra card packets and putting away all the supplies. This blog hop card is going to show you how simple it is to take those already cut card packets and pieces to make a new card!

Full directions will be in a follow-up blog post tomorrow in order to keep this blog hop short, but by simply taking off 1/8" along both the short and long sides of the Coffee Break DSP piece and making 2 cuts to divide the DSP piece into 4 different shapes, this card has a totally new look!

Leave a comment below with a trail to find you. I would be interested in seeing your creations.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! Make sure you keep hopping along to see all the other great cards and projects. Click on the "Next" button below to visit Melanie Coverston's blog.

Happy Birthday Everyone Trifold Card

Special request by the Joyner group of ladies…Trifold card challenge!

Now I have never made a trifold card before so I went to Pinterest and Facebook for ideas and nothing really seemed, well, do-able. My personal challenge was to use only supplies on hand, which included only using 8 1/2" by 11” card stock, and not use flowers. Here’s my card.

Finishing touches. What sets the card apart from others is the Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape and the Dazzling Details (glitter) on the stars.

Difficulty level: Medium skill level

I think it was a big hit. It is versatile too as you can use any large font sentiment for the front of this card. I created a card recipe that I will send you for free with your product purchase totaling $50 or more (excluding shipping/handling/taxes) from my online storesandee904.stampinup.net. My personal offer to send you the card recipe will end on November 30, 2015. Please be sure to check the box that I am allowed to contact you when you place your order, otherwise, I will not have your address to mail your goodies out to you.

Love to see your samples. Send me an email.

Let Your Hair Down Stamp Set - Clean and Simple Birthday Card

I recently needed a birthday card that was ready to go in a jiffy.  I went straight for the Let Your Hair Down Hostess Stamp Set.  And, have you noticed that I am incorporating a lot of tags for the card fronts?  They really simplify the card-making process.  The new tag toppers – Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and Angled Tag Topper Punch – make it even easier, however, for this card, I created my own topper with an angle cut to both top edges of the rectangle piece of Bermuda Bay Card Stock to eliminate the ribbon slot.
I inked the namesake sentiment using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink, and cleared off the ink from the words “birthday” and “hair” with the corner of a baby wipe, re-inking those words using my Strawberry Slush Stampin’ Write Marker.  It is stamped on the Whisper White card stock, purposely lined up close to the right edge in order to punch the left side with the Spiral Border Edge Punch to give the appearance that the sentiment was ripped from a spiral notebook.
The Chevron ribbon piece is simply stapled to the top of the tag and the staple is hidden with a stack of butterflies, solid Bermuda Bay card stock punched with the Elegant Butterfly Punch, and the image from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and punched with the Bitty Butterfly Punch.  A single Rhinestone in the center of the butterfly body was the finishing touch, but I took the picture before that happened.  Oopsy!.
The background is a 5” x 3 3/4” piece from the Confetti Celebration DSP – I love this fun DSP – and layered on a 5 1/4” x 4” piece of Bermuda Bay card stock.
If you are in need of exact measurements, please sign up to follow my blog and I’ll send the card recipe to you for free.  Or send your request to my email address.

Polka Dot Pieces Stamp Set and Bird Builder Punch

After last month's club, I felt like we should get back to some old-fashion stamping.  I think you will like this one, especially the color scheme of 2014-16 Lost Lagoon, Calypso Coral, and Crumb Cake.

Polka Dot Pieces Stamp Set (AC p. 139) is a great combo stamp set that includes images that coordinates with Stampin' Up! punches, like several scallop circle punches, 1 3/4" and 1 1/4" (flowers, easy), the Elegant Butterfly Punch (makes butterflies, easy peasy), and the Bird Builder Punch (makes the bird, real cute too).

And the sentiment makes an awesome stem! (Sorry, Mrs. Hinni - my favorite English teacher - i. I had to start this sentence with an "and" because it needed it.)

The flower is built on a layer of Very Vanilla card stock, then a layer of Lost Lagoon card stock trimmed with the scalloped edge punch, a layer of Crumb Cake card stock trimmed with the scalloped edge punch, and adhered to a card base of Very Vanilla card stock, again, trimmed with the scalloped edge punch.  It is not very clear in this photograph, but with the front of the card trimmed with the scalloped edge punch, the inside of the card shows through and is trimmed with a piece of coordinating Flowerpot Designer Series Paper.

Finishing touch in the bottom right corner is the coordinating ribbon --- 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon in Lost Lagoon.

Let me know how you like this card.  If you need any of the supplies to make this card, I would appreciate it if you would select me as your Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  Visit my online store at sandee904.stampinup.net.

Happy Mother's Day - My Mother Stamp Set

April Stamp Club was reserved for making Mother’s Day cards. I had already posted the card my sister Cindy designed back in February using the My Mother Stamp Set for the Spring Catalog. I think you will remember it – she used the masking tape technique for adding the splashes of color. I put together packets for making her card. Beautiful.
I created a separate Mother’s Day card using the same stamp set. It is a top-fold card with a diagonal cut on the front to showcase the insert – a sheet from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (also available in the Spring Catalog); trimmed using the Scallops Framelit. Trim the DSP piece 1/4+” (which means, mathematically, a “smidge” more) to just fit within the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" frame of the base card and adhere the scrap piece you have just created for the left edge of the card, trimming the excess for a perfect fit. Also, I punched 2 scallop circles in Pool Party and Real Red to separate the totally awesome flower made with the new Spiral Flower Originals Die (seriously, you need to buy this – AND the Fringe Scissors!). And, there are a couple of sprigs from the Bird Builder Punch. I hope you like this card; it was fun to make.

Oh, and the paperclip was created using another another piece of the scrap, wrapped around the top end of the clip and (hard to see) snipped with a flag trim on the end.
Couple of points I wanted to make once you see the picture.  1) The color is totally off in this picture.  It looks like the base card could be a gray, or even white, but it was Pool Party to coordinate with the DSP.  2) I added a "tail" to the back of the card in order for it to "stand" on its own.
We also made some birthday cards with the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set, Springtime Hello Stamp Set and Vivid Vases Stamp. There was something for everyone!

PPA182 Color Challenge and Sketched Birthday

Happy Holidays!

Things have really been busy over the last several weeks getting ready for the holidays, but there are more than holiday cards to make and holiday parties to attend. There are birthday cards and birthday parties too!

I haven't participated in a card challenge in several weeks and found inspiration for this birthday card with Pals Paper Arts color challenge PPA182.  Here's a picture of my card.

I tried to make do without sunlight in taking a picture of my card, but I am not pleased with the results. My apologies.

The color scheme is Elegant Eggplant, the new Smoky Slate, and Very Vanilla.

I have faith that you could replicate this card very easily, however, if you need the paper dimensions, etc., please contact me. I will be happy to send that to you. It may be hard to see from the photo that I used a piece from the Neutrals DSP Stack in Very Vanilla right behind the Chevron Smoky Slate Ribbon. I felt it helped to bring together the white in the ribbon with all the Very Vanilla.  To complete the card you will need these accessories: Scallop Circle 1 3/4", Framelits Circles Collection #4 from the center, Regals Candy Dots (Elegant Eggplant), 3/4" Chevron Ribbon (Smoky Slate), and Stampin' Dimensionals.

Please leave me your comments and share your cards and questions with me.  I will be happy to help.

Stamp on!

Best of Autumn and My First Sketch Challenge – PPA176 Sketch Challenge

I follow the blogs of several other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. Everyone is so positive and I find that they are the most absolutely helpful people and so inspiring.  In fact, they have been inspired me to participate in Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge AND submit it! Here is my entry. I hope you like it!

And here is Margaret Moody’s design:

Wow!  Right?  Angles are tough, too.

This was a perfect opportunity to incorporate the Stampin’ Up! Best of 25 stamp set Best of Autumn. And what goes better with a fall-themed stamp set than Sweater Weather DSP! Sweater Weather color scheme includes several neutrals and the re-introduced Crushed Curry! LUV Crushed Curry CS.

Although it is not a requirement, it was important to me to stick to Margaret Moody’s design as close as possible. Of course, if you look closely, you will see some slight deviations. I have decided not to point them out. :) It is sort of hard to see, but I think you can see that after I cropped the leaf, it didn’t quite look right so I added a layer of Soft Suede and cropped it along the same lines of the leaf. Oh, I almost forgot to point out the bird in the stamped image from Four Frames stamp set did not stop me from using it on this card – I turned it upside down and the bird is hiding behind the leaf!

Stamp Sets:  Best of Autumn, Four Frames  Paper:  DSP Sweater Weather, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla  Ink:  Soft Suede  Accessories:  Stampin’ Dimensionals, Small Scallop Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade, Boho Blossoms Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels (5mm)

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Keep on stampin’ on!  Sandy
